EVENT

Historical Walk 2014

The Alcove Historical Society will host a guided tour of Alcove for a delegation from the Gatineau Valley Historical Society  Saturday, June 14 2014 at 2:00 p.m.

meeting place 845 Route 105 (Pritchard Barn) 00' south of Ryan's  Garage (same side of Highway, Free Parking)

Over the past century this small town, once known as North Wakefield, was a thriving community with two sawmills, a dancehall and a ferry crossing the Gatineau River.  We will explore the town's historic structures and learn about those no longer standing. We will also visit the Pritchard family cemetery, the final resting place of many members of this pioneer family.

All Alcove residents and Alcove Community Association members are encouraged to join in.
If you have any old pictures, historical facts or stories you'd like to share please let David Pritchard know so that we can incorporate your information as a highlight on the walking tour.

Should be a hoot.

Rain or shine - refreshments to follow.
